That's me in the photo. Younger, in the shed, making sausages with family and mates.

When you make your own food you know exactly what went into it. Nobody in that shed was casually throwing leftovers in the bin.

So we vacuum packed everything with a benchtop machine. For putting a whole batch away, it was great.

The frustrating bit came later. You'd cut a bag open for a few slices and the rest needed dealing with. Wrap it, find a container, or get the machine out, find a power point, and hope there was enough bag left to seal after you'd cut the top off. All that for a few slices.

What I wanted was simple. Open the bag. Take what I want. Seal the rest again without turning it into a job.

That's Seal It. A reusable bag with a zip you open and close, a valve on the front, and a little cordless sealer that pulls the air out through it. You don't cut the bag open, you unzip it. Take some out, close it properly, remove the air again. The bag stays the same size. The sealer lives in a drawer.

We started it in Perth in 2023, Chris and I. Sausages were my frustration. For most of the 40,000+ Australians who've bought one since, it's cheese, deli meat, the big meat packs they buy to save a few dollars, or the camp fridge on day three.
